Spring Itinerary #2

Vines, Views, & Main Street Values

Start your day with some outdoor fun at Bays Mountain Park & Planetarium. With a variety of hiking and biking trails, this escape to nature also encompasses a lake with barge rides, firetower for views, native animal habitats, and a planetarium with custom shows daily.

Then head into downtown Kingsport for lunch and shopping. The Mustard Seed Cafe is an easy local option for coffee, pastries, or lunch, and nearby shops like River Mountain Antiques and Hometown Cottage make downtown feel like more than just a pass-through. If you are traveling with kids, the Kingsport Carousel is an easy add-on before you leave downtown.

End the day with a walk along the Holston River along Kingsport’s Greenbelt, stopping for dinner at the iconic Riverfront Seafood. Here, you’ll experience dinner that’s almost as good as the waterfront views. Popular menu items include fried corn on the cob, homemade blackberry cake and a taste of Kingsport’s Original Long Island Iced Tea.
